If you come to Dickenson Road in Bangalore, you will find us at the Trade Center on the fourth floor. Chola Turbo Machinery International Pvt. Ltd. is a bit of a long name, but we just focus on the heavy machines and the turbines. The office is usually a mix of engineering drawings and people talking about mechanical parts. We aren't in one of those new tech parks; the Trade Center is an older building and it has its own character. We handle a lot of technical stuff, but we try to keep things simple in the way we work. The traffic on Dickenson Road can be a nightmare, so we usually get in early to avoid the worst of it. We spend our time looking at turbine designs or talking to the guys at the plant about how a certain part is fitting together. It is not always exciting, and there is a lot of waiting for parts to arrive or for tests to be finished. We have a small pantry where we make tea and talk about anything other than work for a few minutes. It is a practical office for practical people. We don't have fancy decorations, just the stuff we need to get the machines running and the orders shipped out on time. The lift in this building is slow, so we often just take the stairs to the fourth floor.
