Charu Perfumary House

If you walk down Cottonpet Main Road, you will find us at number 211 in Ranjan Mansion. Charu Perfumary House has been in this old building for quite a long time. The stairs creak a bit and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it has character. Being in Cottonpet means it’s always crowded and noisy, but that’s the heart of the city for you. We deal in all sorts of scents and raw materials for perfumes. The air inside our place always smells like a mix of jasmine, sandalwood, and things we can’t even name sometimes. It’s a small operation, mostly just a few of us filling bottles and taking orders from the locals and people further away. We still use the old P.O. Box for some of our mail. It feels more personal that way. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we keep our jars and oils. Customers often come in just because they followed their nose from the street. We sit on old wooden chairs and talk to whoever walks in. There is no corporate script here. We just know our smells and we know the market. It’s a bit dusty and the lighting is dim, but it’s home for our business. We’ve stayed here because we like the history of the area and the people who have been coming to us for decades.
