Chandana Beauty College

This little beauty college is located in Vijaya Nagar, specifically at Manuvana 1st D Cross. We aren't one of those massive institutes you see in the malls. It’s a smaller place where we teach people how to do hair, makeup, and skin treatments. Usually, it's pretty lively inside with the sound of blow dryers and students chatting while they practice. We have a few chairs and some mirrors set up in the main room. Most of the girls who come here live in the neighborhood. They want to learn a skill so they can work in a salon or maybe start their own thing one day. We use simple tools and try to keep everything clean, though hair tends to get everywhere by the end of the day. The building is easy enough to find once you get into the 1st D Cross area. Sometimes the sink leaks a little, but we fix it when we have a spare minute. It's a hands-on kind of place. You won't find many textbooks here; we prefer actually doing the work. If you walk past, you'll probably smell the hairspray or see someone practicing a braid. It’s a good community feel. We’ve been here for a bit and know most of the neighbors. It’s just us doing what we know how to do. Sometimes we have tea together during the afternoon lull. It makes the long hours feel much shorter and keeps the energy up for the evening.
