Setting up shop on Brigade Road was a choice because of how many people pass by every single hour. We are tucked into Sitaram Society near that Commercial Plaza area. It’s a small space but we’ve managed to fit a lot of stuff into it. There are shelves of phone cases and cables that always seem to get tangled no matter how many times I straighten them out. Most of our day is spent looking through a magnifying glass at tiny motherboards or trying to pry open a phone without scratching the casing. People come in quite stressed because their whole life is on their device and now it won't charge. We just take it, give them a slip of paper, and tell them when to come back. The noise from the street is constant here. You hear the horns and the people shouting all day. It’s part of being in this part of Puna. We don't have a fancy waiting area or anything like that. Just a couple of stools and a counter that has seen better days. We do our best to get things back to people quickly because we know how it feels to be without a phone. It’s just us here, working under the bright lights, trying to fix what’s broken and selling a few chargers on the side to keep the lights on and the rent paid.
