Car Land

Over in Ejipura, by the Sampangi Tank, you’ll find Car Land. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We aren't tucked away in some big mall; we’re just right there in the neighborhood. The tank is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. The area has a lot of energy, people walking everywhere and kids playing nearby. Our shop is a bit older, with some cracks in the pavement out front and a door that squeaks every time someone opens it. We keep a pot of tea going most of the morning. It’s the kind of place where people stop by just to chat even if they don't need anything done to their car. We’ve got a few old posters on the walls that have been there since we first opened. The space is usually filled with the sound of tools clanking and the occasional loud laugh. We don't have a receptionist or anything; you just walk in and find one of us. Usually, we’re covered in a bit of dirt or grease, but that’s just part of the job. It gets pretty quiet in the evenings after the shops around us start closing up. We like it here in Ejipura. It feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and do what we know how to do, day in and day out.
