Cafe Chokolade

You can find us right at Ganpati Chowk on Brigade Road, specifically at number 1. If you’ve ever walked down Brigade Road, you know how crowded it gets with shoppers and people just hanging out. Our spot, Cafe Chokolade, is right in the thick of it. The noise from the traffic and the people outside never really stops until very late at night. We have a counter that’s seen better days, with a few scratches here and there from years of use. We don't try to hide them. The blender makes a really loud noise that makes it hard to hear customers sometimes, so we’ve learned to read lips a little bit. We keep the fridge stocked with milk and chocolate everyday. It’s a fast pace here because people are always in a rush to get somewhere else. We don’t have much space for sitting, so most people just stand around or take their stuff to go. The floor gets muddy when it rains because everyone brings the street in with them. We keep a mop behind the door just for that. Being at Ganpati Chowk means we see everything that happens on the street. It’s a small shop and we are just a few people trying to keep up with the orders. We don’t do anything fancy, we just make the drinks and hand them over. It’s a busy life but we like being where the action is.
