You can find us in Bangalore at Saikrishna Arkafe, which is 1320 on the 24 Main in HSR Layout, Sector 2. We are right near the Parangipalya bus stop, so we hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. It’s a busy spot. The office itself is usually full of tile samples, wood laminates, and big rolls of drawings that never seem to stay flat. We spend a lot of time sketching out ideas on whatever scraps of paper are lying around. Sometimes the floor is covered in sawdust if we’ve been looking at some carpentry work. It’s not the neatest place, but it shows we’re actually working on things. We have a few desks squeezed in, and there’s always a laptop running some design program that makes the fan whir really loudly. People stop by all the time asking for directions because of the bus stop nearby, but we don’t mind. We just keep doing our thing, looking at floor plans and trying to make sense of measurements. Sometimes we stay late because a project is due, and the street gets surprisingly quiet after the last bus leaves. We aren't trying to be some fancy design studio with white walls and no soul. This is just where we work, surrounded by the materials we use every day. It feels real, and that’s probably why we like being in this part of HSR.
