Beijing Bites

Our place is located over in Kaggadasapura. The address is a little bit confusing for some people because it’s listed as Old No 21 but it’s also New No 57. We’ve seen people circling the block a few times trying to figure out which door is ours, but they usually find us eventually. We have been in this spot for a good while now and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Most of our day is spent tucked away in the kitchen. It is a noisy place to work with the big burners going and the chefs moving around each other in a small space. We do a lot of takeout business because people in Kaggadasapura seem to stay pretty busy during the week. You can often smell the garlic and the frying pans from the street before you even see the sign. The dining area isn't particularly large or fancy, but we make sure the tables are wiped down and the chairs are straight. We have these big windows that look out onto the main road, and it’s always interesting to watch the evening commute go by. We get a real mix of people coming in, from office workers in their suits to families with small children. Sometimes the delivery drivers are lined up out front when it’s raining, waiting for their orders. We aren't trying to be a fancy five-star restaurant. We just make food that people like and keep the lights on.
