We spend most of our mornings over here at 31 Basaveshwara Nagar in the S V K Layout. It’s usually pretty quiet until the sun gets high. People around here just call us the plant place. We’ve got rows of green stuff everywhere. Some days the dirt gets under your fingernails and stays there no matter how much you scrub. It’s not a fancy office or anything. Just a lot of pots, some hoses that always seem to leak a bit, and a bunch of us trying to keep things alive in the Bangalore heat. We started out small and stayed that way mostly because we like knowing where everything is. If you walk in, you’ll probably see someone hauling bags of soil or trimming back some overgrown leaves. We don't have a big reception desk. You just find one of us near the back. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we’re still here sorting through things when the streetlights come on. It is honest work. We don't spend much time on the computer because there is too much to do outside. The neighborhood has changed a lot over the years but we are still right here in the same spot doing what we know. It gets dusty in the summer and muddy when it rains but that is just how it goes with plants. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the inventory gets a bit ahead of us. It is just life.
