Vasantha Vilas is an old-style building on Mallikarjuna Temple Road, and that’s where we do all our work. Basavanagudi has a specific feel to it, very different from the newer parts of Bangalore. Bangalore Mechatronics Pvt. Ltd. is at No. 23, and if you walk inside, you’ll see benches covered in wires, motors, and half-finished boards. Mechatronics is a mix of things, so we have mechanical tools lying next to laptop stations. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes because the building wasn't originally meant for this kind of tech work. The trees outside the temple road give some nice shade, which helps keep the place from getting too hot in the afternoon. We usually hear the bells from the temple nearby, which is a nice break from the sound of soldering irons or small motors whirring. It’s not a sterile lab. There are coffee stains on some of the diagrams and the shelves are packed with components we might need someday. We spend a lot of time troubleshooting things that don't want to work. It’s a quiet kind of focus in here. People mostly stick to their stations and try to figure out why a sensor isn't picking up. It’s a small team, so we all know where everything is kept, even if it looks messy to anyone else. It’s just a local place where we build and fix things.
