You’ll find the Bangalore Chamber Industry & Commerce over at Jaya Chamarajendra Road 41337. It’s a big street with a lot of history. Our office is in a building that’s seen a lot of years. The stairs are a bit steep, so we usually take the lift, even if it’s a bit slow and makes a weird clunking sound between the second and third floors. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of desks and filing cabinets. There’s a lot of paper everywhere. We try to keep it organized, but there’s always a new stack appearing on someone’s desk. We have a small area where we make tea and coffee. The kettle takes forever to boil. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we know each other's habits. We talk about our families or what we’re doing over the weekend while we wait for the water to heat up. The windows look out over the road, and you can see the buses and cars crawling along during rush hour. It’s quite a view if you like watching the city move. We don’t have any grand decorations. Just some old maps and a few framed certificates that have been there since before I started. It’s a steady place to work, and we just get on with it. We handle the mail, answer the calls, and try to keep the place running as best we can for anyone who drops in.
