We’ve been here at No.10Th Ayyappa Temple Street in Subbramanyam Pallya for a while now. Most days start early with the sound of the temple bells nearby. It’s a busy little corner. Inside the shop, things are usually a bit messy with wood samples, laminate catalogs, and hardware pieces scattered on the desks. We don't really have a fancy showroom. It's more of a place where we sit down and figure out how to fit a wardrobe into a tight corner. The staff knows the neighborhood well, and we usually get our tea from the shop down the road. Sometimes the traffic on the street makes it hard for delivery trucks to get in, but we manage. We spend a lot of time talking to carpenters and trying to find the right shade of plywood. It isn't always glamorous work. There’s a lot of sawdust and phone calls that go on too long. We just focus on getting the measurements right because if the math is off, nothing works. Our door is usually open unless it’s raining hard and the water starts coming in from the lane. People just walk in when they need something fixed or planned for their homes. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know which hinges last and which ones don't, and that’s mostly what we talk about all day. It is a simple life here.
