Aura Architects

We have been operating out of 116 Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar for quite a while now. Aura Architects isn't a big firm with hundreds of people, just a small, dedicated group of us who enjoy the process of drawing up plans. The office is usually a bit cluttered with rolls of tracing paper and half-empty coffee cups. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. Usually, if the phone rings, whoever is closest to it just picks it up. Most of our days are spent at our desks, squinting at computer screens or sketching out ideas on paper. We work on a variety of things, from small house extensions to some of the local shops you see around the neighborhood. Rabrindranath Tagore Nagar is a busy area, and we like being right in the middle of it. Sometimes people just walk in off the street to ask a quick question about a wall they want to knock down or a permit they need. We try to be helpful without making things too complicated. We don’t use those big, impressive words that some architects like to use. We just talk about where the windows should go and how to make the most of the space. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but it’s our space and we get the work done. We’ve stayed here because we like the local feel of the street.
