Over at No.32/B in the Peenya Industrial Estate, 2nd Phase, you’ll find us. Asian Paints India Ltd has been a part of this industrial landscape for a long time. It’s a busy area, full of trucks and the sounds of manufacturing all day long. Our unit is just one of many in this part of the city. It’s not a place where we host big events or anything. It’s a working site. Most of the people here are in overalls or work clothes, moving things around or checking the production lines. The smell of paint is everywhere, which you get used to after about ten minutes. We have a lot of history in this building. The walls have been repainted many times, as you might expect. It’s not a corporate office with carpets and quiet hallways. It’s loud and busy. We have a gate and a small guard shack, and then the main floor where everything happens. People here work hard, and we take our breaks together in the small canteen. We don’t really care about looking polished. We care about making sure the batches are right and the trucks are loaded correctly. It gets dusty in Peenya, especially when the wind picks up. But we’ve been here so long it feels like home. It’s just a practical, hardworking place that does its job every day. We just keep on moving forward with the work.
