Our shop is tucked into unit No.38 inside Mahaveer Plaza. It is not a very big space, but we have managed to cram a lot of shelves against the walls. Every morning starts with a bit of sweeping because dust seems to settle on everything overnight in this building. We sell all sorts of small novelty items like hair clips, plastic toys, and little gift boxes. Most of the people who come in are just passing through the plaza or working in the nearby offices. They usually want something quick and cheap. The lighting in here could be better, but it does the job. I usually sit on a stool behind the small wooden counter and wait for customers. When it gets busy, especially in the evenings, it can get quite cramped. We try to keep things organized, but when you have hundreds of tiny items, things tend to get mixed up. The neighboring shopkeepers are friendly, and we often share tea in the afternoons. The plaza can get quite noisy with the sound of the overhead fans and people talking. We have been here for a few years now and have a regular routine that works for us. It is just a simple way to earn a living. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. Just the items on the shelves and us ready to help anyone who walks through the door.
