About Asha Glass And Plywood – Building & Construction Material in Bengaluru
Our shop is right on Banneraghatta Road, near the 21/1 mark. It is a place that smells like cut wood and glass cleaner most of the time. We have stacks of plywood leaning against the walls and large sheets of glass held in wooden frames. It can be a bit dangerous if you aren't careful, so we are always telling people to watch where they step. We spend a lot of the day measuring and cutting pieces to size for various jobs. The saw makes a loud noise and sends sawdust everywhere, so we are constantly sweeping up. When we cut glass, it has to be very quiet and precise. One wrong move and the whole sheet is ruined. We have a small table where we do the fine work. Most of our customers are local carpenters or people trying to fix a broken window at home. They come in with their measurements on a piece of cardboard or scrap paper. We don't have a fancy display area. You just see the raw materials as they are. Sometimes we run out of a certain thickness of plywood and have to wait for the next truck to come down the road. It is a bit cramped in here, especially when we have a lot of orders to finish. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. The traffic on Banneraghatta Road is always roaring past, but we get used to it after a while.
