Ariff Jawa Garage

Ariff Jawa Garage is located at St. Johns Church Road No.58. If you walk past, you’ll probably see a few old bikes parked out front on the sidewalk. There is always a smell of petrol and old engine oil in the air. Ariff started this place because he just liked messing around with engines. It’s a small garage, and it can get pretty cramped when there are three or four bikes being worked on at once. We have tools hanging on every available bit of wall space. Most of the guys who bring their bikes here are regulars who have been coming since we opened. We don’t have a waiting room or anything like that. People usually just stand around and chat while we look at their machines. The floor is stained from years of work, and no matter how much we scrub, it stays that way. It’s a loud place, especially when we have to test an engine. The neighborhood is used to it by now, though. We work mostly on older models that people don't know how to fix anymore. It’s honest work, and it keeps our hands dirty all day. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know we are here at number 58. It’s a simple life running a garage like this, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We usually keep some tea in a thermos to share with anyone who stops by for a chat.
