If you’ve ever been to the BDA Shopping Complex in Austin Town, you’ll know it’s a bit of a maze. I’m at number 82, right near the Maninagar Station Road. It’s a lively spot, especially when the trains are coming in and out nearby. You can hear the announcements faintly if the wind is blowing the right way. My office is a basic setup with a couple of old filing cabinets and a computer that takes a minute to wake up in the morning. I’ve been here at Arif Ali & Co for a long time, and I know most of the other shopkeepers in the complex. We share stories over coffee sometimes. The floor is that old-fashioned tile that’s easy to clean but always looks a bit dusty no matter how much you sweep it. I keep a calendar on the wall that I forget to flip sometimes, but the work gets done anyway. It’s a practical place for practical people. Most folks who come by are just looking to get their paperwork sorted without any fuss. I don't see the point in having a fancy waiting room with leather chairs when a plastic stool works just fine for a five-minute chat. The station road gets very crowded in the evenings, so I usually pack up and leave before the rush gets too bad. It’s just how things are around here.
