Our office is tucked away at number 8, Bheemanna Garden. It’s in Shanti Nagar, right off Andree Road. Being an architecture firm in Bangalore means we’ve seen the city change quite a bit from our windows. The garden area used to be a lot quieter, but that’s just how things go. Inside, we have drafting tables and a few computers that have seen better days. There are rolls of drawings everywhere. We spend a lot of time looking at maps and sketches. Sometimes we argue about where a wall should go or what material to use, but it’s all part of the process. It isn't a fancy studio like you see in magazines. It’s a working space with coffee stains on the coasters and a leaky tap in the small bathroom. We like the light that comes in during the afternoons. Shanti Nagar is a central spot, so getting around isn't too bad if you avoid the peak traffic hours. We’ve got a couple of plants in the corner that we forget to water sometimes. People stop by to ask questions or drop off files. We just try to get the designs right. It takes a lot of patience and many hours of sitting. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address. It’s a quiet life here mostly. We just focus on the projects on our desks and try to finish before the sun goes down.
