Alay Design Collaborators

Alay Design Collaborators is based over in Frazer Town on Promenade Road. We are right opposite Santhosh Hospital, which is a landmark most people in this part of Bangalore know. Our setup is pretty simple and there’s no fancy front to it. We call ourselves collaborators because that is really how we work; it is just a bunch of us sitting around a table trying to make sense of a design brief. The office is located at No.41/2, and it has a very local, neighborhood feel to it. Frazer Town has its own unique energy, and we definitely feed off that. We don't have any corporate jargon or mission statements posted on the walls. Mostly, our walls are covered in sketches and notes written in marker. We spend a lot of time just talking through ideas and seeing what sticks. Sometimes we spend hours debating a single detail, and other times things just click into place. It is a messy, creative process and we don't try to hide that. We aren't looking to be the biggest firm in the city; we just want to do work that we can stand behind. People usually find us through word of mouth, and we like it that way. If you drop by, expect a bit of noise and a lot of sketches lying around. We just keep it real and focus on the task at hand. It is just a small group of us trying to do good work. It feels right being in this part of the city.
