Akshaya Patra Foundation

Up on Hare Krishna Hill along Chord Road, you will find us at the Akshaya Patra Foundation. It’s a bit of a climb, but the air feels a little different once you get up there away from the main traffic. The mornings are usually the busiest time for everyone here. We start early, often before the sun is even fully up, getting everything ready for the day ahead. The building is large and solid, sitting right there on the hill where everyone can see it. We spend a lot of time moving between the different sections of the facility. It is not a quiet place, but it is a productive one. You can hear the hum of machines and the sound of people talking as they go about their tasks. We have a lot of floor space that stays busy from dawn until late afternoon. Sometimes the wind picks up on the hill and it whistles through the hallways. We don’t have much in the way of fancy decorations. Most of the space is just used for practical things. There’s a lot of cleaning and organizing that happens every single day to keep things running. People come from all over the area to work here. We mostly just focus on what needs to happen today and then prepare for tomorrow. It is a lot of repetitive work, but we are used to the rhythm of the place by now.
