Adithya Lamps

Adithya Lamps is located in the basement of the TV Complex on BVK Iyengar Road. It's right opposite where the old Koutons store used to be. Being in a basement means we don't get much natural light, which is funny because we sell lamps for a living. The stairs going down can be a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. The shop is full of different light fixtures and bulbs hanging from the ceiling and tucked into every corner. BVK Iyengar Road is always a chaotic place with scooters and people everywhere, so once you step down into our shop, it feels a little quieter, though you can still hear the horns from the street. We’ve been here for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change a lot. We don't have a big corporate setup. It’s just us helping people pick out what looks good for their homes. Often, we are just changing bulbs or showing how a fitting works. We keep a lot of spare parts in the back because people are always coming in with something broken they want to fix. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than three customers at the same time, but we manage somehow. We stay open late most days because that’s when the road gets even busier with shoppers. It’s just a normal way to run a business in this part of town.
