We are situated at 163 Akkipet, which is one of those old, crowded parts of the city where the lanes are narrow and full of life. Our shop is filled with the smell of ink and the constant sound of machines running. We do a lot of graphic work and printing, so there are always stacks of paper and proofs lying around. Akkipet is a busy place to be, and there is never a quiet moment outside our door. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the walls are covered with old samples and color charts. It’s not a large space, so we have to be careful not to trip over the boxes of paper. Some days the printers act up or a design takes longer than we thought, but we just keep at it. We see a lot of regular customers who come to us for their wedding cards or business bills. It’s a very hands-on job. Our fingers usually have a bit of ink on them by the end of the shift. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the workspace where the actual printing happens. People walk in off the street with an idea on a scrap of paper, and we try to turn it into something real. It’s just us, the machines, and a whole lot of paper. The electricity sometimes flickers, but we’ve learned how to work around the quirks of this old neighborhood.
