We run things out of Flat 904 in the Zest Suncity apartments. It’s a bit unusual having a food and beverage business registered in a residential block, but that’s where we are located on the Outer Ring Road. Being on the ninth floor gives us a view of the Ibblur traffic, which is usually at a standstill during peak hours. We spend most of our time on the phone or working on the laptop at the kitchen table which we turned into a desk. Since we are in an apartment complex, we don't have heavy machinery here. It’s more of the administrative and planning side of the food business. We have to be careful about bringing too many samples or boxes up the elevator so we don't annoy the neighbors in Block 4. Most of our actual stock is kept elsewhere, but this is the heart of the operation. It’s a quiet place to work compared to the chaos of the ring road downstairs. We drink a lot of coffee and try to stay organized with all the spreadsheets and emails. It’s just a few of us making sure the suppliers are paid and the customers are getting their deliveries on time. Sometimes the internet goes slow when it’s raining hard, but otherwise, it’s a pretty standard routine. We don't have a lobby or a receptionist; you just ring the doorbell like any other home in the building and hope the lift is working.
