VIMFRE TEXTILES AND APPARELS PRIVATE LIMITED

We are located on the 4th floor of No. 657, which people now call New Number 11. It’s in Jayanagar 5th Block on 11th C Main Road. Being on the 4th floor means we get a good view of the trees in Jayanagar but it’s a lot of stairs if the lift is acting up. Our space is divided into sections for textiles and the actual apparel work. You can hear the hum of sewing machines through the day. It’s a steady noise that you eventually stop noticing. There are piles of fabric everywhere. We try to keep things organized by color or type but usually, things get mixed up when we are busy. Someone is always cutting something or checking a hem. We have workers who have been with us for a long time. They know their way around the machines better than anyone. The 5th block is a busy place so there’s always noise from the street coming up. We have stacks of paper patterns pinned to the walls. It’s not a polished studio. It’s a workshop. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and cloth scraps. We sweep at the end of the day but it’s back by the next morning. It’s just the nature of the business. We focus on getting the garments finished on time and out the door.
