Vidyalokam Welfare Foundation

Vidyalokam Welfare Foundation is located at 56, B M Road in Champdany. You can find us near the Lp-33/23 mark. The road outside is always loud with trucks and people going about their business. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the building has seen better days, but it serves our needs just fine. We have two small rooms where we handle all of our work. It’s mostly focused on helping out the local workers and their families who live around this industrial part of town. A lot of people come in with questions about their rights or needing help with some paperwork they received. We try to keep things as simple as possible without using a bunch of complicated words. There isn't much of a fancy setup here, just a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the window, so we have to keep our papers on the other side of the room. We don't have any big corporate backing, just a few of us who want to help our neighbors out. Some days it’s very quiet and we just sit and drink tea, while other days the line goes out the door. We don't really have a set schedule for everything, we just take it as it comes. It is just a local place for local people.
