Transikkat Handlooms is tucked away in the 5th Phase of JP Nagar. We are on the second floor of a building in Munnawara Layout, right near the Mahaveer Springs apartments. If you know the 15th Main and 17th Cross area, you’ve probably passed by us without realizing it. We focus on handlooms, which is a lot slower and more detailed than the big factory stuff. The space is filled with the smell of yarn and the sound of work. It’s not a massive operation, just a dedicated group of us in this Bangalore neighborhood. We chose this spot because it’s quiet enough to focus but still close to everything in JP Nagar. The second floor gets some good light, which helps when you are looking at threads all day. We have stacks of hand-woven materials everywhere, and sometimes it feels a bit like a warehouse, but we know where everything is. It’s a local business through and through. We don’t have any fancy marketing teams; we just talk to our customers and suppliers directly. Sometimes we have to deal with the usual Bangalore problems like rain flooding the street or the power flickering, but we just keep going. It’s about the craft for us, even if it’s just a small office in a busy layout. We’ve been here for a while and plan to stay.
