Studio Papyrus Design Llp is tucked away on the 3rd floor of a building in the Koramangala Industrial Area. The specific address is No.106/A, on 4th Cross in the 5th Block. Being in the industrial area means it’s not exactly the most scenic part of Koramangala, but it’s practical for what we do. You have to climb a few flights of stairs to get to us since the lift can be a bit temperamental sometimes. Once you’re inside, the space opens up a bit. It’s got that raw, industrial feel with high ceilings and not much in the way of decoration. We have big tables where we lay out our work. It can get a bit hot in the summer, but we have enough fans going to keep it comfortable. The 4th Cross can get pretty packed with trucks and delivery vans, so it’s always a bit of a scramble to find a spot for a bike. We’ve been in this 5th Block location for a while now and we’ve gotten to know the other people in the building. It’s a hardworking environment. No one is wearing suits here. We usually show up in jeans and get to work. There’s a lot of paper and scraps lying around because of the nature of the design work we do. It’s not a showroom; it’s a workshop. We like the grit of the industrial area; it feels like things are actually being made here.
