Our shop sits at No 579/612 on Mother Theresa Road. We are easy to spot because the Ganesha Temple in Begur is right nearby. This part of Bangalore South is a bit more relaxed than the center, but it still has plenty of life. At Sowjanya Aayush Apparels, we spend most of our time working with various types of garments. The place is usually a bit messy with thread and piles of finished clothes. We don't have any kind of corporate structure here. It is just a few of us who know how to sew and cut fabric. My hands always seem to have little nicks from the needles or stains from the materials. We don't put on an act for anyone. If you walk through the door, you will see us busy at the work tables. Machines break down sometimes, and we usually have to fix them ourselves to save time. We don't spend money on marketing or advertising. Instead, we rely on the neighborhood folks knowing we do a decent job. The sound of the temple bells is a nice backdrop for our work. We usually take our tea breaks outside when the weather allows for it. It is a humble way to earn a living, and we like being part of the Begur community. We just keep doing our work every day, one stitch at a time.
