Out here in Manchenahalli Hobli, things move at a much slower pace than in the city. Our place is located at 113/2 in Guyyalahalli Majara, near Bikkalahalli. It’s a long name for a small spot, but that’s just how the land records are around here. We’re near the Balakuntahalli Post, so we see the postman quite often. Working in the food and beverage business in a more rural area like this means we are very connected to the local rhythm. We spend a lot of time dealing with the basics, like making sure the water supply is steady and the equipment is clean. It’s not a polished office with glass walls; it’s more of a functional space where we handle the bottling and the food prep. The air is a bit cleaner out here, which is a nice perk of the job. Most of us who work here are from the surrounding villages, so we all know each other pretty well. There’s a lot of physical work involved, moving crates and checking the stock levels before the trucks come to pick things up. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait it out, but that’s part of the deal when you’re based in the hobli. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done to get the orders ready. It’s a quiet life, but there’s always something to fix or clean or organize before the day ends.
