We are set up at Number 43 on Egipura Main Road. It’s a pretty lively spot in Bangalore, so there is always something going on outside our door. Inside, we mostly deal with fabrics. We have rolls and rolls of different materials stacked up wherever there is space. It can get a bit crowded, especially when we get a big shipment in. We don’t have a fancy front office, just a small space where we can talk to people and check our invoices. The floor is usually covered in bits of thread, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the business. We focus on getting the fabric ready and sent out to the folks who buy from us. Being on the main road is good for visibility, but parking is a real headache for the delivery drivers. We often have to go out and help them spot a gap in the traffic. It’s a small group of us here, and we all pitch in with the lifting and the sorting. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit when the neighbors turn on their heavy equipment, but we just keep going. It’s a simple operation, really. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to do our job well enough to keep things running. That’s how we’ve always done it here. We usually close up around six, once the last bundle is loaded and the paperwork is tucked away for the next morning.
