We are tucked away on the ground floor over in BTM Layout 1st Stage in Bangalore. Our place is on 10th Cross, near where it meets 20th Main. It is a busy part of the city, so there is always noise and people moving about outside. Our office is a simple space where we manage chit funds for the people living nearby. It is not a high-rise corporate building, just a practical spot where you can walk in off the street. We spend our days tracking payments and organizing the monthly draws. People from all walks of life in BTM come to us. Some are small shop owners, while others work in the offices around here. We keep things down-to-earth. There is no complicated talk or corporate jargon here, just clear numbers written down. We find that our members prefer it that way. When it is time for the monthly auction, the room fills up and it gets quite lively with everyone talking. We make sure everyone understands the process before they put any money in. We have been in this neighborhood for a while and know the area well. Sometimes we have to deal with the typical Bangalore power cuts, but we keep the books moving anyway. It is just a small group of us working hard to make sure the fund is managed properly. We do not go for anything fancy.
