Byraweshwara Nagar in Sunkadakatte is where we spend most of our days. The office is at number 127 on the 3rd Cross, right off the 3rd Main. It’s one of those parts of Bangalore that feels like its own little village sometimes, even though it’s growing so fast. We have a simple room here where we handle the chit business. There are stacks of files and a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. People from around the Sunkadakatte area walk in and out, usually stopping to chat for a bit while they handle their business. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the main road is busy, but we’re tucked away enough on the 3rd Cross to get some work done. We do things the old-fashioned way mostly, writing things down and keeping track of who is due for what. It’s a practical way to run things. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall down the street while we go over the ledger. We don’t use any complicated systems or have a big team of people in suits. It’s just us here, making sure the local members get their questions answered and their payments recorded. The neighborhood knows us by now. Being in 560091 means we see a lot of residential growth around us. We just keep our heads down and keep the records straight every day.
