You can find us at the Sri Complex on Hoysala Nagar Main Road. We take up shops 3 and 4 there. It’s Khata No 149/1, Sy No 560043, right in the middle of the Horamavu area. This part of Bangalore is always changing, but we’ve stayed put in the complex. Our office is pretty basic. We have some chairs for customers and a big table where we do the paperwork. Handling chit funds means a lot of signatures and a lot of counting. We spend a lot of time on the phone, too, reminding people about dates. The main road is always busy with bikes and cars, so it’s never really quiet. We’re used to the noise by now. We’ve been here since before some of these new apartments went up. It’s a local operation, mostly just a few of us making sure everything balances out at the end of the month. We aren't doing anything fancy. We just run the schemes and make sure people get their money when it's their turn. It’s a lot of responsibility, so we take the record-keeping seriously. Most of our clients live just a few streets away. They drop in after work or on their way to the market. It’s a practical setup for a practical business. We keep the shutters up until late evening most days. There is always one more ledger entry to make before we head home. We just take it one day at a time.
