Porunay Textiles Private Limited

Our work happens at D.No.118-A on Ii Nd St. This is in Kamaraj Nagar, part of the K R Puram section. Porunay Textiles Private Limited is the name we use. We’ve been in this 27-D building for a long time. The street out front is very narrow. Most big vehicles can't even turn the corner. We have to carry the bundles of cloth by hand from the main road sometimes. It’s hard work and it makes your back ache. Inside, we have a bunch of sewing machines. They make a lot of noise when everyone is working at once. There is always thread and bits of scrap fabric on the floor. No matter how much we sweep, it always comes back. We don't have any air conditioning, just some old pedestal fans. When it rains, we have to move the stock away from the corner where the roof drips a bit. It is just a small local operation. The neighbors are used to the sound of the machines by now. We know everyone on the street. We get our lunch from the small shop around the corner. We aren't trying to be some big corporation. We just want to make good things and earn our living. It is a bit messy and loud here, but it’s our place. The address on 2nd Street is home to us and we stay busy.
