We work out of the first floor at 1296, which is on 8th Main and 11th B Cross in Mahalakshmipuram. Phalamrut Fruits And Vegetables Private Limited is a small operation, mostly focused on getting fresh stuff to people. Mahalakshmipuram is a nice area with a lot of trees, but our office is mostly about business. We have crates of produce coming in and going out at all hours. The smell of fresh fruit is usually hanging around the stairs. It’s a busy life. We don't have a lot of fancy office furniture. Most of the space is taken up by weighing scales and packing materials. We start our day when most people are still sleeping, usually around four or five in the morning. That’s when the best fruits and vegetables are available. We aren't a big supermarket chain. It’s just a few of us who know our way around a wholesale market. We spend our time checking for bruises on the fruit or making sure the greens are still crisp. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains and the roads get muddy. But we just keep at it. No one here wears a suit. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. Our address in Bengaluru is where we do all the sorting and the hard work. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way.
