Down on Sarjapura Road, in the Dommasandra Village area, you'll find us working away at Maverick Granites Limited Liability Partnership. We are located at No 195/2 and it’s a bit of a trek out here depending on where you're coming from in Bangalore, but it’s where we have the space for all this stone. This isn't one of those high-rise offices with glass walls. It's a practical spot in Anekal Taluk where we store and handle various types of granite. There is usually a bit of mud on the boots and plenty of stone dust in the air. We spend our hours moving heavy pieces and making sure everything is measured right. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it rains and we have to cover everything up quickly. We have a small crew and everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. It’s not a complicated setup. We just focus on the granite we have in stock. People come by to look at the different patterns in the rock, and we show them what’s available in the yard. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and shifting, but we are used to it by now. Being out in Dommasandra means we have a bit more room than the guys in the city center. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. It is honest work and that is enough for us.
