We’ve been running things here on Sarjapur Road for a good while now. Our place is at 26/9, right in the Doddanakannahally area. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road, so there is always noise from the traffic and the trucks coming in and out. We mainly deal with marble and other kinds of stone. It is heavy work and honestly, it gets quite dusty in the yard most days. We don’t have one of those fancy showrooms you see in the city center. It’s just us, the stone slabs, and the cranes we use to move everything around. People usually drop by when they are building a house or fixing up a kitchen. They walk through the rows of stone to see what they like. Some days the weather is a real problem, especially when the monsoon hits and the yard gets all muddy. We just pull the tarps over the stock and wait it out. It’s a small operation. My family started this and we’ve just kept it going. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. Most of our visitors are just locals or contractors who have known us for years. We spend a lot of time measuring slabs and talking about different patterns in the rock. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like being part of the neighborhood. If you are looking for us, look for the big stacks of marble near the main road.
