We are located on the second floor of a building at No.31/02, right on 7th Cross, BTS Main Road in Wilson Garden. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, and there’s always noise from the traffic outside. Our office isn’t huge, but it works for what we need to do. Karant Chit has been around for a bit, focusing on managing the chit cycles for local residents and small shop owners nearby. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit narrow. Once you’re inside, you’ll see some desks, some old files, and usually one of us on the phone. We spend our days tracking payments and organizing the auctions. It’s a lot of administrative work that doesn’t leave much time for anything else. We try to be helpful when someone has a question about how the chit works or when they can expect their money. It’s just a few of us here, and we handle everything from the cleaning to the accounting. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when many people show up at once on a Saturday, but we manage to get through it. We don’t use any complicated software for everything; a lot of it is still done with pen and paper because it feels more reliable. We’ve been in this neighborhood long enough that we know the regular faces and their families. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation in the heart of the city.
