Kamalanayana Chits is located right on Maramma Temple Road in Malleswaram. Being on the first floor of 31/1 near 8th Cross gives us a good view of the street, which is always full of life. Malleswaram has that old Bangalore feel that you just don't find in the newer parts of the city. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we sit and handle the chit fund accounts every day. We’ve got desks, some old cupboards for the files, and a few chairs for visitors. The temple nearby means there’s always a bit of a crowd outside, especially on special days. We spend a lot of time double-checking entries and making sure the ledgers are correct. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic and the bells from the temple, but you get used to it after a while. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live just a few blocks away. We talk about the weather or the price of groceries while we sort out the payments. It’s a straightforward operation. We don’t go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People just know where we are by word of mouth or by walking past the building. Sometimes the stairs are a bit steep for the older folks, but they still make the trip to see us. We keep things moving, handling the collections and the auctions without too much fuss. It's just honest work in a busy neighborhood.
