Jasminefusion Apparel is located over in HSR Layout, Sector 7. It’s House No. 1289, right in the middle of a busy residential and commercial mix. Being in Bangalore, we deal with the usual power cuts and the noise from the street, but we’ve made this space work for us. It’s where all the sewing and packing happens. We don't have a big front desk or anyone to greet you; it’s mostly just the sound of machines and people talking about measurements. Some of us have been here since the start. The rooms are filled with rolls of cloth and thread. It gets a bit messy during the peak weeks, but we know where everything is. HSR is a good spot for a business like ours because we can get supplies easily. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure the clothes are put together right. Sometimes the weather gets damp and we have to be careful with the storage, but we manage. It’s a plain building, nothing flashy. We spend most of our time at our desks or the cutting tables. It’s a simple setup. We prefer it that way because it keeps the focus on the actual work. Every day is pretty much the same—unpacking raw materials, checking the stitching, and getting things out the door. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and the neighborhood is lively enough that we never feel too isolated in our little corner.
