Our office is tucked away at No 189/2 on Brigade Road here in Bangalore. If you have ever spent any time on Brigade Road, you know how busy it gets with all the shops and people walking around. Helius Impex (Opc) Private Limited operates right from the heart of it. It is an OPC, so it is a smaller setup, mostly just me and a couple of others handling the day-to-day trade stuff. Being in the 560001 zip code area means we are close to everything, which helps when we have to go to the bank or meet someone for a quick chat about a shipment. The building is older, but it serves the purpose. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at shipping manifests. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the street noise, but you get used to the sound of traffic and horns after a week or two. We handle various imports and exports, mostly trying to make sure things get from point A to point B without sitting in a port for too long. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication with suppliers. Some people think running a business from Brigade Road sounds exciting, but mostly it is just a lot of hard work in a small space. We don't have a big lobby or anything like that. It’s just a desk, a computer, and a lot of coffee.
