Green Pips Foundation

Our place is called Koppam House on the Koppa Maderi Road. It’s located in Nellyady, which is part of the Puttur area in South Karnataka. Green Pips Foundation started here because this is where we live. The house number is 4/345. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but we like the quiet. It’s mostly trees and hills around us. We use a couple of rooms in the house for our work. It’s not a professional office setup by any means. There’s usually coffee on the stove and papers all over the dining table. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. It’s just us trying to do something useful for the environment around here. The road can get a bit dusty in the summer months. We've got a small sign near the entrance so people don't miss us. Sometimes the power goes out, but that's just how it is in this part of Dakshina Kannada. We don't mind. It gives us a break from the computers. People in the village know where to find us if they need anything. We don't have set hours really. If we're home, we're working. It’s a simple way of doing things. We just want to see more trees and less waste in our own backyard. It is not a corporate job, just something we care about doing right for the land.
