Grand Bakers Private Limited

Our place is located at No. 70/1 on 1st Main Road in Kamashipalya. If you know the Karekallu area at all, you probably know exactly where the 5th Cross is. We are Grand Bakers Private Limited and we spend most of our waking hours around hot ovens and heavy flour sacks. It gets pretty warm in here, especially when the baking starts in the early morning before the sun is even up. We chose this spot in Bangalore because it’s easy to get our bread and other goods out to the local shops from here without getting stuck in too much traffic. It’s definitely not a quiet job. There is always the constant sound of mixers running or plastic crates being stacked up against the walls. We have a small team of local people who show up every single day to make sure the dough is just right. Sometimes we run out of space because of all the ingredients we have to store, but we always find a way to make it work. It’s a messy business, to be honest. Flour gets into every corner, even on our shoes and the chairs in the back. We don’t have a big corporate office with glass walls; it’s just the bakery floor and a small wooden desk where we keep the bills. We’ve been doing this for a long time now and the daily routine is what keeps us going. Most people in the neighborhood know the smell of our place by now. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just making sure there is enough fresh bread to go around the neighborhood.
