Girls In Science And Tech Foundation

Our little office is down in HSR Layout, right on Haralur Main Road. We’re in the Ozone Residenza building, Unit 004 to be exact. It’s a busy area with lots of new shops and apartments popping up all the time. The Girls In Science And Tech Foundation is basically just a group of us who care about getting more girls interested in technical stuff. We don't have a big fancy lab or anything like that. Mostly, it’s just us with our laptops sitting around a big wooden table that wobbles a bit if you lean on it too hard. The sunlight comes in quite nicely in the mornings, which makes it a decent place to work. We spend a lot of time planning workshops and trying to find people who can help out. Sometimes the traffic on Haralur Road is so bad that we just end up staying late to wait for it to clear. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear casual clothes and usually have crumbs on the desk from whatever snacks someone brought in. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone knocks, whoever is closest to the door gets up to answer it. It’s a bit messy sometimes with wires and books everywhere, but we know where everything is. We just want to make it easier for young women to see that science isn't just for some elite group. It’s just us doing what we can with what we have.
