Down at 9 G4 Hansa in Park Professors Colony, you will find us working away at Chettinadu Handlooms Private Limited. The area is usually quite calm compared to the main city roads, which makes it a decent place to spend the day. We have been in this spot for some time now, handling the different textiles that come through our doors. Every morning, the first thing we do is open up the shutters and let some fresh air into the workspace. It can get a bit dusty with all the fabric and thread around, so we try to keep things as tidy as we can manage. Working with handlooms means there is always something to look at or something that needs a quick fix. The threads get tangled sometimes, and someone has to spend an hour just sitting there sorting that out. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone wearing suits and ties. It is mostly just regular people who know how to handle cloth and don't mind getting their hands a bit dirty. The neighbors in the colony are used to seeing our delivery vans coming and going at odd hours. Sometimes we sit out on the steps during our lunch break if it isn't too hot outside. We have a few old fans that make a lot of noise but they keep us cool enough while we work. It is a very practical way to run a business.
