If you know the Bommasandra Jigani Link Road, you know it’s mostly trucks and dust. Our place, Biofi Medical Healthcare India Private Limited, is at Plot 208. It’s right in the middle of the Industrial Area. We get to work early before the heat really kicks in. The building is practical. It has to be, given what we do. We aren't sitting in some air-conditioned glass tower in the city. We’re out here where things actually get made. The floor is usually busy with people moving stuff around. We deal with a lot of medical supplies and equipment. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out. Lunch is usually brought from home or someone goes out to the local mess. It’s a long commute for most of us, especially coming from the main part of Bangalore. Karnataka-560105 is our corner of the world. We don't have a marketing department writing fancy stuff for us. We just handle the orders and make sure the healthcare stuff goes where it needs to go. The industrial estate is a bit grey, but we’ve got a couple of plants in the office to make it look nicer. It’s just a group of people working hard every day. We’ve been at Plot 208 for a while and we know all the neighbors now. It's a gritty area but it feels like home to us.
