Our place is sitting at No 39-40 in Chokkasandra. This part of Bangalore is pretty industrial and busy with trucks and small factories. We’ve been here for a while now, just running these hotels. It’s a no-nonsense kind of area, so we don't try to be anything we’re not. The rooms are simple and they get the job done. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We mostly just talk to the people who walk through the door. Keeping a place clean in a dusty area like Chokkasandra is a full-time job in itself. We spend a lot of time with brooms and mops. There isn’t a fancy restaurant here, just some basic food if you’re hungry. We’re just normal people working here every day. We know the shopkeepers around the corner and the guys at the tea stall. It’s a tough business sometimes, especially when things break down, but we manage. We don’t make big promises. We just provide a room and a bed at a price that makes sense for the area. Most of our guests are here for work in the nearby units. We don’t have a corporate office somewhere else; we’re right here on the ground. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic, but we’ve gotten used to it after all these years of being here in the city. It's a busy life.
