We operate out of J P Nagar, specifically at the Elita Promenade Apartments. It might seem a bit different running a business like Ballagiri Gowdru Masala from an apartment complex on 18th Cross, but it works for us right now. This is where the planning and the boring paperwork happen. We are focused on traditional masala blends that have been in our family for a very long time. It’s not a factory here, just the office side of things where we handle the incoming orders and talk to our suppliers. My family has always been very picky about how spices are mixed and dried. We eventually decided to make it official and start this company to share those specific tastes with others. Sometimes the 7th Phase gets a bit crowded with traffic, but the location is convenient for meeting people who are interested in what we do. We don't have a big staff, just a few people making sure the bags are labeled correctly and the shipping is organized for the couriers. It’s a lot of phone calls and sitting at desks, making sure everything is moving along as it should. We don't spend money on big ads or marketing gurus. We just hope that once someone tries the masala in their own kitchen, they’ll come back for more. It’s a quiet way to run things, but we honestly prefer it that way. We just want to get the spices from the source to the kitchen without too much fuss.
