We’ve been here at No 47 on Serpentine Road for a while now. Most folks in Kumar Park West know where the office is, tucked away in the 5th Block. It’s just a regular place where we manage the chit groups. Usually, the morning starts with checking the books and making sure the monthly collections are sorted out. People come in to pay their dues or just to ask when the next auction is happening. It isn’t fancy. We have a few desks, some chairs for visitors, and plenty of paperwork. Bangalore is a busy city, but this corner of Kumar Park feels a bit more settled. Our team consists of a few people who handle the accounts and the legal side of things. It’s a lot of math and record-keeping every day. Sometimes the internet acts up, or the traffic outside gets too loud, but we get through the work. We follow the rules for chits, and that keeps everything clear for everyone involved. If you walk down the road, you can't miss the sign. It’s a local business run by local people who know the neighborhood well. We spend most of our time here, just making sure the cycles run on time and everyone gets their turn when they need it. It’s straightforward work without any big frills or expensive office gear. We just keep our heads down and do the accounting as it needs to be done.
